Book was ok suitable for readers who have patience for a slow plot and minimal suspense But had an effective meaning Zack is from biracial parents He searches out his grandfather who objected to the marriage I had to read this as an English project for school half of the time I was sitting down bored to death However the book does have a good plot as well as some Important Points That People In Modern Society Still Seize To points that people in modern society still seize to or even acknowledge for that matter In my opinion I would recommend this book to someone who likes This Genre Of Books genre of books was a uick well developed read with a lot of really nice writing and some very serious truthful confrontations about race and slavery that are powerful and important especially for the intended age group I like Zack and his parents and Jen I like #his grandfather i like the power of what #grandfather I like the power of what learns through his research I don t love that the book feels very much like it was written by a white man and I m not sure that I agree with the socio political rejection of his grandfather s attitude To have Etta be personally injured by her father.
