This Was Written In 1912was written in 1912 one of the interesting things is that there is something about everything that you can be glad about if you keep hunting long enough to ind it I never read this as a child although I m pretty sure that if I had known it was a book I would have begged or a copy of my very own When this irst came out as a movie my Heroes Adrift (Hero, father took me to see it just the two of us a rare event I loved the simplicity of her view of life in general and particularly ininding joy in the smallest things echoing the teachings of her recently passed Chuck and Danielle father who was a minister He d shared some of his beliefs with her during his life chief among them was the rejoicing texts Be glad in the Lord or Rejoice greatly or Shoutor joy and all that you know such a lot of em And in her sweetly inspirational in the and a child shall lead them kind of way she mentions that he told her if God took the trouble to tell us eight hundred times to be glad and rejoice He must want us to do it SOME Many thanks to my goodreads riend Kimber whose review prompted me to add this one Wow What have I been missing all these years As a child I grew up on the Disney movie of Pollyanna and thought it was just wonderful I was never introduced to the classics or even realized that Pollyanna was a book turned into a movie When I sat down with my chidlren to read this story I THOUGHT I knew what I was reading to but boy was I wrong It soon became apparent that this was another true o the test of time classics takes you through all the emotions of a true clssic My children ell in love with sweet litle Polyanna and we all cried and laughed along with her and Dogs Behaving Badly: An A-Z Guide to Understanding and Curing Behavorial Problems in Dogs for her My children each had such a touching emotional growth ofaith compassion and empathy through this reading that I wish all children had a mommy to read this story to them Read this one to your chidren no matter their age and share the beauty of real life. Ear and mainly written using words we use except or sometimes when pollyanna spoke that except or sometimes when Pollyanna spoke That also spoke ten the dozen and at times it elt like she went on and on As with nearly all Alma classic books this has extra reading material at the back as well as a uiz and a glossary of terms used back in 1913 This is a beautiful book that I really enjoyed The words just lowed and the plot was so vivid and I elt like
#I Had Travelled Back #had travelled back time Pollyanna is the story of a young optimistic girl who is tragically orphaned sent to live with her grumpy Aunt and ends up changing a town s point of view through her sunny disposition It s supposed to be inspiring In act it s probably the idea bud Liar for books like The Power of Positive ThinkingPollyanna the eternal optimist plays the glad game where she always tries toind something to be glad about no matter how challenging Also everyone who comes into contact with Pollyanna is happily inspired by her wonderful positive outlook and becomes a enlightened person because of it I was only eight years old when I read this book Conseuently I bought this message hook line and sinker I made it my mission in life to be happy and positive all the time and tried to have that perfect Pollyanna disposition It s now so ingrained into my psyche I probably couldn t get rid of it if I tried People still give me ghastly looks sometimes and say Oh my God you re always so happy How do you do it Let s Noir face it though the Pollyanna disposition is a bunch of crap Nothing is patronizing then to have somebody tell you after your job has been downgraded and your pay cut in half You should be glad you still have a job That maybe true but that doesn t take away the outrage of having been screwed by your employerBeing positive all the time is like crushing a piece inside of you Sometimes you just want to bitch grump and spew a bunch of obscenities Sometimes you re just sad and don t have the energy to try toind the gladness I ll be honest I loved this book as a child but I Omba in casa la nipote Pollyanna una ragazzina allegra e esuberante L'ottimismo e la gioia di vivere della piccola contagiano tutto il paese ma uando perfino la zia comincia ad. TooI Never Read This Booknever read this book a child though I had known of it and had seen it about Most likely because I tended to stay away rom the classics as a child and unfortunately I have a eeling even today that children prefer newer books than classics like this which is a shame as they are really missing outAs classics go this was surprisingly easy to read The language is cl.
