However fantastic the happenings in the novel I never doubted for a moment the underlying truth of the protagonist's experience. Sure, this new mother at the heart of the story starts turning into a dog, literally, on the novel's first pages, but even so, as I read along, I kept thinking:

[E–pub/E–book] (Nightbitch) author Amy Bloom December 16, 2020 and I can confirm this will be one of my top 10 books of 2021. I can't see how someone can beat *all* of this. It's like every thought I ever had as a new mom/ working mom found themselves onto these pages, heightened by literary genius. Equal parts hysterical and mortifyingly accurate. DAMN, Rachel Yode

[E–pub/E–book] (Nightbitch) author Amy Bloom I can see how people could compare this book to Bunny by Moda Awad, but frankly it reminded me of Jenny Offill or Miranda July. It was a wonderful maze to get lost in, and I now feel compelled to sit at my mum's feet and apologize. I think people who haved lived as mothers will take away from Nightbitch than I have.

[E–pub/E–book] (Nightbitch) author Amy Bloom Rachel Yoder's Nightbitch is a speculative delight grounded in the mundane realities of caregiving. The story is wholly original, and very much in conversation with other recent

The unnamed protagonist has given up her career as an artist to be a full time mom, which has had some unusual effects on her after two years. She begins to grow hair in odd places, her teeth have gotten sharper (specifically her canines), and her demeanor has become a bi
