Nd critical role on the road to their success This uniue book is an inspiration for the hundreds of thousands of US families who adopt The Taste of Night (Signs of the Zodiac, each year and will forever change the wayveryone understands the incredible global tradition of adoption With a foreword by Eric Metaxas and an afterword by Larry Ki. are commanded uphold
commanded Uphold rights of the orphan In James 127 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world Embryo adoption dates back to the birth of Christ Matthew 1 says Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place this way Jesus birth was the first IVF His adoption is the one that foreshadows our own adoption in Him She was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit As I see it mbryo adoption is to be with child as a gift from the Holy Spirit For that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken We are living in the days of Herod the Massacre of the Innocents Where Abortion Runs where abortion runs and over fifty three million lives have been terminated over the past four decades Yet God chose to birth His only begotten Son through the womb of an inexperienced impoverished unwed teen mom The unconventional circumstances surrounding Jesus birth and adoption serve to remind us that God s purposes are far bigger than our ownJust because something doesn t make sense to us doesn t necessarily mean it doesn t make sense My new favorite life verse is Galatians 44 5 But when the fullness of time had come God sent forth his Son born of woman born under the law to redeem those who were under the law so that we might receive adoption as sons As Christ followers and born again believers we are adopted We have received the Spirit of Adoption as sons by whom we cry Abba Father Romans 8 We are born of Him and adopted by Him The purpose of adoption is to place children of unusual promise in homes of uncommon opportunities The gravity #of the sacrificial choice to make an adoption plan is a selfless act of love on the part of the biological # the sacrificial choice to make an adoption plan is a selfless act of love on the part of the biological the adoptive parents become the backbone for the character of who their child will become As adoptive mother Dorothy Hamilton posits Can I tell you what I think makes someone a parent It s the person who changes a child s diapers feeds him takes him to school helps him with his homework hugs him when he cries and offers advice and perspective A parent is there to hold a child when he needs stitches and washes his hands when they re dirty A parent is someone who is there for a child very day A child s first impression of God is so often shaped by the relationship they have with a mother father or other authoritative figureif the guardian of a child is kind gentle and just the child will often see God in similar fashion In the words of Larry King If there s a child out there The history of adoption is the history of the world itself Children taken in by new families have grown up to dramatically reshape the world in ways most of us do not fully appreciate Chosen for Greatness profiles 16 well known adoptees who were given the opportunity to change history for the better Ooking for a parent could that someone be you Chosen for Greatness is affirmation of our spiritual adoption as sons and daughters and conviction that legal adoption is an agent for global transformation This book a lot of little biographies adoption is an agent for global This book has a lot of little biographies it so it s helpful if you want to learn just a little bit about a bunch of people Most chapters left me wanting just a little information about them and I wasn t always convinced that the information presented was relevant to their adoption connection Still The Road From Home: The Story Of An Armenian Girl enjoyed it but it was an okay book than a really love book Fascinating Interesting HearteningAs an adoptee I m always curious to read stories about people who are adopted or parents who adopt children That s why I wasxcited at the opportunity to read author Paul J Batura s book Chosen for Greatness How Adoption Changes the WorldI found Chosen for Greatness fascinating interesting and heartening In this book Paul tell about the lives of sixteen famous people who were adopted including Steve Jobs Babe Ruth George Washington Carver Scott Hamilton Leo Tolstoy and They come from various walks of life and over hundreds of years The chapters are short but the reader learns about the adoptee their pre adoption circumstances birth parents and adoptive parents Most fascinating is to see God s providential hand in the life of Exile and Pilgrim each of these people In their lives you can see how perfectly God brought these orphans to just the right parents It was sobering to read about the difficult circumstance these children were born into It made me pause and give thanks for the times we live in I also saw a resilience in the human spirit Children and parents who could haveasily given up though perhaps wayward for a season found a way to persevere and achieve greatness in this life I found it ncouraging to read about parents who adopted children made a lifelong commitment and sowed into these young lives the seeds that God would use to make the children into the men and women He called and gifted them to beSince I m adopted I found it particularly interesting to read about what these adoptees felt about their adoption and birth parents Though sometimes drawn to meet and know their birth parents they knew their parents were the ones who adopted cared for and raised them Parenthood is less about blood and love and commitment This book is written from a Christian perspective Many of the people whose story is told were Christians or xposed to the Christian faith I appreciated the reminder from Scripture and the life of the Lord Jesus Christ that adoption is part of God s story For His only begotten Son and for those whom He has chosen and adopted as His own I highly recommend Paul J Batura s book Chosen for Greatness How Adoption Changes the World This would be "an ideal book for someone who is adopted or those who have adopted children or know someone who is adopted "ideal book for someone who is adopted or those who have adopted children or know someone who is adopted if you just want to read an interesting book and learn what shapes people s lives pick up Chosen for Greatness I would like to thank Regnery Publishing for the opportunity to read Chosen for Greatness by Paul J Batura I was under no obligation to give a favorable review The history of adoption is the history of Hen they were taken in by their new families Their contributions and accomplishments span the spectrum from science to sports religion to ntertainment technology to politics These adoptees didn't accomplish what they did in spite of being adopted; rather it was their adoption that played a positive
